Daily Journal Continued February 9, 1998, William Thomas Thompson. It is 5 A.M. and I am in the Guesthouse Motel room 147 across from the Fort at exit 95 on I-95 in Florida. I feel like a very small drop of water in a mighty big ocean but I know that all things are possible. I painted the entire rusty steel framework on the highway sign all around and I painted the steel passage door beside the first gate also with rustoleum oil base black paint working it into the art. The 3 crosses on the back of the billboard sign can be seen by the traffic traveling West on 16. I mixed brown rustoleum paint into the black to make it look like wood. Now I have 2 colors on the backside, the background is solid blue. I will add yellow to highlight the center cross and to note the Glory of God. I will paint pure red as the blood of Jesus on the cross. This will also give me a balance of color. I painted green on the single door outside with the black rustproof paint on the steel frame in an arch shape. I intend to paint the words “Enter these gates with thanksgiving". On the back inside, I will paint "Exit these gates with joy for the world". One coat of the black gross enamel is great looking on the inside. I am ready to letter. The mini warehouse row of fronts I had to paint the doors with white oil primer and the cement block with masonry green paint so I have 2 colors to begin. I have already gone back across the top half with a loud blue for the sky crossing the entire wall of about 50 feet x 8 foot tall. This portion has a tin roof overhang of about 3 feet so I hit it with the blue paint roller. Strawberries are recommended for best food today, high in Vitamin C. I am now very hungry and need breakfast before I can continue. It is 6:30 A.M. and Shoney’s is open across the highway with buffet. I want to go later today to the strawberry farm someone told me about 10 miles west. It is daylight now and the Sun is up big and red. I have eaten a full breakfast, eggs and grits, biscuit and gravy, sausages and oranges, 2 cups of coffee. I feel great like I can now take on the wall and paint the heavens. I painted blood on the center cross and highlighted it with yellow and orange spray cans to outline the center cross. I painted flowers along the base and wrote "there is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Emmanuel's veins". On the front I painted "New Millennium". With this I quit for now. See you on the road home. While I had my hands in paint, A man from the water works drove up in his city pickup truck and ask what I was doing and what was this going to be? I told him, Christian Art outdoor museum! He was so happy and gave me his card and said the local Christian Radio Station would be glad to talk it up on the air. I realize it will take a major effort to do with this place what I envision for it to reach its full potential. Pray that it will stand for truth, absolute truth. Dear Lord May my life be given to thy service. What good otherwise would it serve? I am thine O Lord. I seek wisdom and knowledge from the only source, the creator of all wisdom and knowledge. Heal me Lord God I pray that I may walk with thee in all thy will and ways. I praise your Holy Name for all that I have in the ability to do. May I look straight ahead and not be discouraged by anything that is against this cause. Isaiah 29-15,"Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? Who knoweth us?" Let us worship.
